Amy Barker, LMHC, owner & founder of Adoption Savvy, is an Adoption & Trauma Therapist who offers individualized counseling, coaching, consulting, clinical supervision, and public speaking services. Amy holds a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, is licensed with Washington state as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), is certified in Attachment and Trauma Focused Therapy (ATFT) with Deborah Gray, and is trained in Relational Psychotherapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Filial Play Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy.   She currently works with individuals of all ages and families of all kinds in the adoption community (and also in general counseling) and regularly facilitates groups and retreats for Adult Adoptees and Birth Mothers.

Amy provides caring, specialized treatment in: adoption and foster care issues, birth family relationships and reunions, PTSD, trauma recovery, sexual abuse, grief and loss, infertility, identity struggles, anxiety, depression, anger management, children of divorce, cross-cultural adjustments, and more. She treats each client with deep empathy and great hope for healing and wholeness.

Amy is also specially trained in The PATCH Program for Parenting Adopted & Traumatized CHildren, a 12-16 week program of individual and group therapies designed to address attunement, attachment, and other related issues in adoption and foster care.

 

The fee for a 50-minute counseling, coaching, or consulting session is $175 and may be partially covered by Adoption Support for those adopted from foster care. Fees for clinical supervision, speaking engagements, and other events vary. Contact Amy for more details.
